Hi!
I’m Tom, aka “Guitar Tom”. A name given to me by a student’s mother years ago.

I have been playing the guitar since 4th grade, and I majored in Music at Bard College in NY where I received a BA Degree, as well as the prestigious Claire Leonard Honors Scholarship for Excellence in Music Composition and Performance. The following year I was made Adjunct Faculty at Bard as a private teacher working with the college.

I have not stopped playing or teaching since! I have performed, recorded original music, and taught in many settings. I have played on television (WGN) as part of the 56 Music Fix and twice at the Mount Prospect Downtown Block Party. I have even played onstage with Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members Adam Yauch (MCA) of the Beastie Boys and folk legend Pete Seeger.

I have done many Demonstrations at places like Lion’s Park, Fairview, Westbrook Elementary schools, Adlai Stevenson High School and moreI still LOVE playing the Guitar, Ukulele, Bass Guitar and Banjo and really enjoy helping my students to grow on their instruments. I’m here to help you as well!
