Don’t let the name fool you, Guitar Tom also gives lessons on ukulele and banjo too.

His lessons are fun, he believes that a student should enjoy their lessons not look at it as a drudgery – something they “have” to do. Whatever style you are looking for Tom can accommodate you.

I’ve been taking ukulele lessons for several months and enjoy every minute (ok the Em chord is awful). I wanted to learn Beatles songs and that is what we work on, with a little Janis Joplin and Louis Armstrong thrown in for good measure.

I don’t believe you can go wrong taking lessons with Tom. Check him out. His motto is “learn the music you like” from a beginner with no music background to an advanced player he can help everyone.

Hi, Tom.

My name is Matthew Milewski, I doubt you remember me. I oftentimes late at night get sentimental. And recently, having come home from college after my first semester, I think about those who have helped me. And the guitar, which has helped me through the hardest of times, brings back the most potent memories. So, I couldn’t help but remember the countless lessons you gave me.

You helped show me the possibilities of personal expression, you helped me learn to be patient, you helped me want to learn what previously seemed but a dream. You were my teacher for the better part of 2 years, and those 2 years helped me more than any classes I have taken so far in life.

I remember one of the first fingerpicking songs we learned, “Spike Driver Blues” by Mississippi John Hurt. Everytime I feel as though life’s challenges are insurmountable, I play this song and I feel invincible. And I owe that all to you. I’m not sure how often you hear this, but I felt the need to express my gratitude. You, as a teacher and as a guitar player, have inspired me and I forever owe a debt to you. I am home from school now, and just the other day remembered the time you let me solo over “While my guitar gently weeps”. I remember the fear I felt, but I pushed it down and played from the soul. I felt free, and it changed my life.
Thank you, you change lives whether or not you know it.
Humbly yours,
Matt Milewski

For the past few years our family has been blessed my Guitar Tom! Tom is uniquely special because of his dedication to each student. With his kind and gentle style he has been able to engage, encourage, and individualize lessons to each child’s interests and pace. We do not have a standardized book with Tom! My kids have pages of Tom hand written music from songs they requested. Could there be a more fun way to learn?
